He continued:
"As disappointing as it is, I couldn't be prouder of our entire organization. From our coaches, players, board members, interns and wonderful host families this season was one for the ages.
We were all focused on a singular goal of creating an environment of great baseball, and a fun family atmosphere for our community of Hawks fans. We hit a home run on both!
The memories, laughs and yes ... tears will create a bond to last a life time. It was my honor to lead this effort. So let's take pride in our season and after a few days to readjust ... let's begin our work for next years season. Until then, thank you! It's a great day to be a Hawk!"
Among the leaders at the plate this year for Hyannis were Mitch Jebb, who finished second in Cape League play in average (.360) and RBIs (22). His teammate, Cole McConnell, tied him in the RBI category.
