Lady Martha Cancels Trips After Taking on Water
The Lady Martha, a Hy-Line Cruises ferry, took on water Tuesday in Hyannis Harbor. Services have been cancelled Tuesday and Wednesday as a result.
High-speed ferry trips on the Lady Martha were canceled Tuesday and Wednesday after the boat began taking on water in Hyannis Harbor, according to CapeCodtoday.com.
AÂ seal gave way and the vessel began taking on water, but the boat was safely evacuated by Barnstable police and Hyannis firefighters, according to the report.Â
Hy-Line Cruises, which operates the boat, tweeted that the incident caused cancellation Tuesday with the following:Â "#ALERT 8/13/13 TUE & WED 8/14/13: High speed service between Hyannis/Martha's Vineyard is cxl. Also no inter-island Tue or Wed."
