Mashpee Commons Gets In The Holiday Spirit Starting This Weekend

MASHPEE, MA — Mashpee Commons is set to host a number of holiday events this season, starting this weekend.

The holiday season kicks off on Saturday with the first edition of the Cape Cod Christmas Market, which runs on Saturday and Sundays through Dec. 15.

Events really get going on Black Friday, when the Commons hosts the first installments of this year's caroling and brass band performances, alongside the holiday tree lighting and appearance from Santa at Santa's Village.

The 18th annual Mashpee Chamber Holiday Parade – the only nighttime holiday parade on Cape Cod — is scheduled for Dec. 14, as is the Mashpee Holiday Stroll.

“We are thrilled to offer free, family-friendly holiday events that bring together friends, families, and neighbors for a festive season at Mashpee Commons,” said Krysten Kelliher, Mashpee Commons Marketing Director.

“Mashpee Commons has been a Cape Cod holiday destination for nearly four decades, and we look forward to welcoming visitors to experience and enjoy our extensive 2024 lineup of seasonal events and entertainment.”

Featured activities include:

• The Mashpee Chamber Holiday Parade: Saturday, Dec. 14, 6 p.m. Rain date: Sunday, Dec. 15.
• Tree Lighting Ceremony: Friday, Nov. 29, from 3:30 to 5 p.m. at the plaza outside of Siena restaurant, featuring caroling, a brass band and holiday treats.
• Photos with Santa: Santa’s Village at 41 Steeple Street, next to Pottery Barn. Scheduled appearances from Nov. 29 to Dec. 22 on select dates.
• Caroling and Brass Band Performances: Nov. 29 through Dec. 23, on weekends and select weekdays throughout the Commons.
• Mashpee Holiday Stroll: Saturday, Dec. 14, from 2 to 6 p.m., prior to the parade, with in-store specials and holiday music.
• Holiday Instagram Photo Contest: Weekly from Nov. 29 through Dec. 27. Each Friday, a holiday photo tagged with #MashpeeHoliyay will be selected to win a $100 gift card to a Commons merchant of the winner’s choice.
