Name

Kyle Condinho

How old will you be as of Election Day?

42

What city or town do you live in?

Marstons Mills

What office are you seeking?

Town Council precinct 12

If you are running in a district, you can specify the district here.

Please give us your party affiliation.

Education.

I graduated from Barnstable high school and attended CCCC where I took business classes and horticultural classes

What is your occupation?

I own and operate a small landscaping company. I have been in business for over 20 years, and have been lucky to work for some customers since the beginning. Our only form of advertisement is word of mouth, and still operate on hand shake deals. I believe that keeps everyone upfront and honest and will bring those values with me to town council if elected

Do you have a family? If so, please tell us about them.

I am married to my best friend Julie and we have 3 children. Our oldest, Grace is a freshman at Mass Maritime studying emergency management. Kate is a sophomore at Barnstable high school and is on the tennis team. Max is in the sixth grade, and has been playing hockey since he was 7

Does anyone in your family work in politics or government?

No

Have you ever held a public office, whether appointive or elective?

No

Now we'd like to ask a few questions about your reasons for running and your general views on politics and government. First, why are you seeking this office?

I feel like it’s an important time to get involved. There is a lot going on in the town, and a lot of irreversible issues. I think we need to come together as a town, pay attention, get involved and have a voice. We need better leadership with more transparency.

Please complete this statement: The single most pressing issue facing my constituents is \_\_\_, and this is what I intend to do about it.

Transparency. I don’t think the town would be in the situation it is in if we were informed before things just happen. We need to get everyone involved and more importantly, have a say in local issues

What are the major differences between you and the other candidates seeking this post?

I don’t know my opponent very well. I would like to say I am not running against Paula, rather I am running for the people. I am 3rd generation of Marstons Mills- in fact, we were fortunate to buy my grandmother’s house, raising the 4th generation here. I’ve also been fortunate to learn the history of this village, and respect where we have come from. I believe that is important to consider when moving forward.

If you are challenging an incumbent, in what way has the current officeholder failed the community?

Again, I am not getting involved to badmouth or put anyone off. I believe that is the problem with politics. We have an election coming up, and I respect the views and values of our village.

What other issues do you intend to address during your campaign?

I believe bringing a local voice with experience in leadership and management, with strong family values will help in addressing all local issues presented. We have a lot of difficult issues at hand, and having no political ties- representing my home town- will be a beneficial approach to these issues

What accomplishments in your past would you cite as evidence you can handle this job?

Starting a business at a young age, and then starting a family at a young age has put a lot of pressure and stress on my wife and I. We have struggled through hard times, and have worked hard to grow to where we are. We also own a rental property (our first house where we started our family)- so managing, problem solving, and making tough financial decisions has been learned through hard work and I believe those skills are important to poses.

What is the best advice anyone ever gave you?

There was a gentleman who used to clean the Marstons Mills post office- he was always smiling and happy to give the advice “Don’t give up the ship”
I think that advice could apply to any of us going through hard times. We never gave up. We work hard every day to build a great future for our family and community, and working together with respect for one another is the best approach to life.

Is there anything else you would like voters to know about yourself and your positions?

My approach to local government is to have respect for one another. To inform the people of the town on major issues. I will never be persuaded by big corporations hoping to infiltrate our local government for their gain only. We need sensible planning moving forward. We live in an environmentally sensitive area and we need to respect that. I think we sometimes take for granted the beauty of what’s around us, and once we move forward on the major issues in front of us we can never go back.
