Motorcycle Rider Injured In Cape Cod Crash

The operator of the motorcycle, a 50-year-old male from Taunton, was "conscious and alert but had sustained serious injuries," police said.

BOURNE, MA — A Taunton, Massachusetts man suffered serious injuries in a motorcycle crash on Cape Cod, police said.

Around 9:45 p.m. on Saturday, Bourne Police and Bourne Fire & Rescue were dispatched to MacArthur Blvd. for a crash involving a car and a motorcycle.

Officers on the scene found a Harley-Davidson motorcycle that had been struck from behind by a Ford SUV.

The operator of the motorcycle, a 50-year-old male from Taunton, was "conscious and alert but had sustained serious injuries," police said.

He was transported to an off-Cape trauma center by Bourne Fire & Rescue.

The operator of the Ford Escape, a 23-year-old female from Falmouth, was not injured and refused medical treatment.

Lane closures were put in place as the scene was investigated and cleared. That investigation remains ongoing.
