Preliminary Election, Hyannis Public Library Association Meeting

Five things you need to know in Barnstable on Tuesday, September 17.

1. Tuesday will be sunny with a high temperature near 61, according to the National Weather Service.

2. Tuesday is Preliminary Election Day in Barnstable. Voters in Precinct 6 and Precinct 12 will each vote for two candidates for Town Council between 7 a.m. and 8 p.m., Tuesday.

3. The Barnstable/Centerville Girl Scouts will host fall sign-up events on Tuesday at  West Barnstable Community Center, 2377 Meetinghouse Way and Centerville Recreation Building, 524 Main St. You can also sign up at www.hergirlscouts.org.

4. The Hyannis Public Library Association will hold its annual meeting Tuesday at 5:30 p.m. at the library, 401 Main Street.

5. The Marstons Mills Public Library will host a Journeys Travel Talk about Patagonia on Tuesday at 4:30 p.m.
