Provincetown Carnival Starts This Weekend

The 46th annual event runs through Aug. 24. Here's an overview of what to know.

PROVINCETOWN, MA — The Provincetown Carnival officially gets underway on Saturday, marking the return of Cape Cod's largest annual event.

Back for the 46th year, this year's theme for Carnival is Renaissance & Revolution.

  • Official Opening Party & Costume Contest at Crown & Anchor (Sunday, 9 p.m.)
  • Let Them Eat Cake: Brass Key Pool Party (Monday, 1 p.m.)
  • Le Bal Masqué: A-House Official Carnival Dance Party (Monday 10 p.m.)
  • Opulence: A Diamond & Pearls Dance Party at Red Room with FROLIC Weekend (Wednesday, 10 p.m.)
  • The Renaissance Ball Closing Party with Kevin Aviance at Crown & Anchor (Friday at 10 p.m.)

The ticket package also includes a commemorative Provincetown beach towel, Carnival poster and bandana.

Provincetown's annual Carnival parade is scheduled for Aug. 22 along Commerical St. starting at 3 p.m.
