Red Cross to Recognize Boston Marathon Responders

The Third Annual Disaster 5K Run/Walk will mark the six-month anniversary of the Boston Marathon bombing.

The Third Annual Disaster 5K Run/Walk, which raises funds for Red Cross local disaster response, will have a special "Boston Strong" ceremony prior to the race on Sunday, October 19.

With the event falling near the six-month anniversary of the Boston Marathon bombing, the Red Cross will honor responders in a ceremony at 9 a.m. before the race starts at 9:15.

The ceremony will take place at the Hyannis Village Green.

Registration is $20 per participant and open to the public.

Participants can register at redcross.org/capedisaster5k or create a fundraising page crowdrise.com/disaster5K.
