Strong Winds Knocked Out Power For Some On Cape Cod

A few hundred people are without power on Cape Cod after a night of strong winds and rain. Here's what to expect for Wednesday.

BARNSTABLE, MA — Strong winds and rain overnight on Cape Cod have left a few hundred people without power on Wednesday morning.

Eversource reports that customers in Barnstable and Yarmouth are still waiting on their service to return, as of 9:30 a.m. on Wednesday.

The National Weather Service reports that parts of Cape Cod saw winds up to 65 mph overnight, with a high wind warning remaining in effect until 1 p.m. for Barnstable, Dukes and Nantucket Counties.

Heavy rains left the area between the hours of 6 and 7 a.m., according to the NWS, who said much of the concern will now shift to "the runoff and significant River and Stream flooding that is already underway" across the region.

A coastal flood advisory is in effect until noon on Wednesday for for Barnstable and Nantucket Counties.
