The town of Barnstable's Growth Management Program will team up with area organizations to host a training on Monday afternoon to prepare the public for potential climate changes in coastal communities, according to a press release.
In partnership with the Massachusetts Institute of Technology Science Impact Collaborative and the Waquoit Bay National Estuarine Research Reserve, the town "will host a sophisticated and simple role-play simulation workshop to explore methods to decrease vulnerability to climate change impacts and also gauge consensus on adaptation strategies," the press release stated.
The afternoon training will run from 1 to 4 p.m., and the evening workshop is from 5 to 8 p.m. in the Hearing Room at Barnstable Town Hall. Refreshments will be provided.
