Trooper Shot In Hyannis, Police Searching For Gunman

The State Trooper is expected to be OK, according to police.

BARNSTABLE-HYANNIS – Police are looking for the gunman that shot a Massachusetts State Police trooper during a Hyannis traffic stop late Friday night.

Shortly after 11:30 p.m. Friday a Massachusetts State Trooper pulled over a car on Camp Street in Barnstable. At some point during the traffic stop, the officer was shot, according to police, and drove off.

Another trooper drove him to Cape Cod Hospital, which transferred him to Boston hospital. Police said his injury is minor.

Now police are looking for the driver of the car, but did not release information about the car or occupants.
