West Barnstable Fire District Election, Meeting Is This Week

WEST BARNSTABLE, MA — It's that time of year again for the West Barnstable Fire District.

The annual district election and meeting is scheduled for Wednesday. It falls on the last Wednesday in April each year.

The election meeting runs from 5 to 7 p.m. and the annual meeting follows at 7 p.m.

A fire district annual meeting is essentially an open town meeting, the same as is traditional in New England Towns, fire officials said.

An elected moderator runs the meeting, which is conducted in the same fashion as a town meeting. All fire district voters can participate and vote at the meeting, which is open to the public.
