Elizabeth Warren Wants Accountability Agency to Review 'Chaotic' Trump Transition
The Massachusetts Senator wrote to request oversight on President-elect Donald Trump's move into the White House, business ties.
Washington, DC — Massachusetts' Elizabeth Warren is one of two legislators calling on the Government Accountability Office to review what they called President-elect Donald Trump's "chaotic" transition into the White House.
Specifically, the letter sent this week asks that the GAO "examine conflicts of interest related to business holdings of Mr. Trump and his family, potential violations of protocol and national security concerns related to Mr. Trump's communications with foreign leaders, and transparency related to the use of taxpayer funds in the transition."
On their list of concerns is Trump's "blind trust," through which he would sign over his business operations to family, and additional worries that Trump and his family "have not drawn a clear line between his Presidency and his company.

"At this point, it is not clear if the line between Mr. Trump's Presidency and his and business ventures is blurred-or entirely nonexistent," they wrote.
As has been well-documented in the days since Trump won the election, the businessman brings with him to the White House an unprecedented number of potential conflicts of interest tied to his various business enterprises.

Warren, along with Rep. Elijah E. Cummings (D-Md.), are also seeking GAO assessment on national security concerns and use of taxpayer funds raised over the past week, as Trump meets and speaks wwith foreign dignitaries, largely from his Trump Tower offices in New York City.

It's yet another indication that Warren, who campaigned hard against Trump, will be dogging the President-elect's steps well before he sets foot in the White House, to say nothing of afterward.
