Bedford Police Department to Conduct Regular Alcohol Compliance Checks
Police Chief Robert Bongiorno announced an initiative on Oct. 23 which will see regular alcohol compliance checks around town.

Officers from the Bedford Police Department will be conducting regular alcohol compliance checks at watering holes around town in order to curb underage drinking, according to a Tuesday press release from Police Chief Robert Bongiorno.Â
"Alcohol use by teens is related to traffic crashes, crime, poor performance in school and a number of other behaviors having an adverse impact on the quality of life in Bedford," Bongiorno said in the statement.Â

BPD has trained officers to complete lawful and regular alcohol compliance checks at establishments in Bedford liscensed to serve alcohol.Â
"This will not be a one-time initiative and we will periodically conduct compliance checks to ensure the safety of our children and to ensure that our licensed establishments are in compliance with the law," Bongiorno said in the press release.
