Bedford Police Log: OUI Arrest, Kids Hit Glass Bottles on Athletic Fields

The following information was provided by the Bedford Police Department. An arrest does not indicate a conviction.

Aug. 16:

Police received several calls about a man walking in the middle of the street on The Great Road. An officer located the man and took him back to the VA Hospital.

Aug. 17:

A hit and run accident was reported on Page Road at Francis Kelly Road. The suspect’s car was described as a white sedan heading southbound.

Aug. 18:

A dog barked for more than 10 minutes at the Crestview Kennel. An officer contacted the kennel, and an employee said the dogs would be kept quieter.

A man was spotted sitting in the car and was unresponsive when people tried to communicate. Michael Dallas, 53, of Lowell, was arrested for driving under the influence of alcohol and allowing the car to idle for more than five minutes.

A Princess Pine Drive resident reported a suspicious male who knocked on her door asking her to buy a raffle ticket. An officer located some teens, who said they were selling tickets for the Bedford Football team’s raffle. The officer told them they should sell tickets during daylight hours.

A group of 10 to 12 youths were hitting glass bottles with baseball bats onto the soccer fields across from Bedford High School. The group was gone when an officer arrived. The DPW was called to clean up the glass.
