BEDFORD, MA - The following is a sampling of log entries provided by the Bedford Police Department. Where mentioned, an arrest does not indicate a conviction.

Saturday, Feb. 13

8:38 a.m. - Received a call from Central Alarm Monitoring reporting a commercial alarm at 200 Avalon drive, the Clubhouse. Officers report the building was secure and all was in order.

12:11 p.m. - Caller reports a manhole is missing a cover in the area of Wildwood Drive at Beverly Road. Officer on scene reports there is a sewer switch without covering. Officer reports he put a cone near the hole, DPW notified.

12:49 p.m. - Caller reports a dog has been left in a vehicle in the parking lot of 309 The Great Road, in front of Home Goods. The caller was concerned about the dog’s well being due to the cold weather. Officer reports he located the vehicle and the dog is in good health and the vehicle’s windows are warm to the touch. Officer located and spoke with the owner, all in order at this time.

5:11 p.m. - Police received a 911 call from 297 The Great Road, Ocean State Job Lot reporting a larceny. Officer dispatched.

5:20 p.m. - Caller at The Bedford Shopping Center reporting a dog locked in a vehicle. Officer reports the dog is healthy, the owner located and sent on her way. No further action taken.

6:29 p.m. - 911 call reporting a two car motor vehicle accident without injury 191 Hartwell Road, The Edge Sports Center. Officer dispatched, Patterson’s notified for the tow.

9:33 p.m. - 911 call reporting the outside odor of gas on North Road. National Grid notified and responding. Fire Department shut the gas off, home owner aware of the situation. Companies clear and returning.

10:37 p.m. - Call from a Boston Police Sergeant requesting a check Sweetwater Avenue for a suspicious motor vehicle. Officer reports a check of the area, that vehicle was gone on arrival. Caller updated with the findings.
