New Trash Day Rolls Out With Few Hitches
The Department of Public Works received only a handful of complaints about the new Monday trash pick up.

Bedford’s new Monday trash collection day got off to a good start.
The town received few complaints about the change from Wednesday to Monday collections, said April Delano, business manager for the Department of Public Works.
“We probably had approximately 10 inquiries (from residents) that they hadn’t received the notice about the new trash pickup day,” Delano said.

A few more people called to say they did not like the change.
“We did have maybe two to three real complaints, as far as people not wanting the Monday pickup because they go away in the summer,” Delano said. “Out of a population of 13,000, that is pretty good.”

For those who forgot about the change or did not hear about it, a trash truck will go around town on Wednesday to make pick ups, Delano said.
Overall, Delano said she was pleased with the change over.
“It went better than expected," she said. "it was very smooth."
