Police: More Hurricane Sandy and Lawn Vandalism
The following information was provided by the Bedford Police Department. An arrest does not indicate a conviction.

Tuesday, Oct. 30
12:02 a.m.- The Bedford Police Department received a call from Fire Chief David Grunes reporting 40 gallons of oil had spilled from a transformer near 24 Fox Run Road. The Department of Environmental Protection was notified who contacted NSTAR. The DEP and NSTAR reported the oil was non-hazardous mineral oil. NSTAR reported they would send a crew in the morning to clean up the spill.
6:43 a.m.- Police received a call reporting Hemlock Lane was flooded. The Department of Public Works was notified and put out detour signs.Â

9:08 a.m.- An officer reported a tree resting on a primary wire on Wiggins Avenue at Ashby Road. NSTAR was notified.Â
9:34 a.m.- A resident of Meadowbrook Road called police to request his neighbor be notified of a large spruce tree on their property line about to fall over onto their fence. Because of a no-trespass order the caller could not notify his neighbor himself. An officer was dispatched.

10:14 a.m.- Police recieved a call reporting an injured squirrel on North Road. An officer was dispatched and reported the squirrel had been hit and was deceased.
2:18 p.m.- A resident of Glenridge Drive came into the station to report someone had driven a car over his lawn on two occasions, both between 11 p.m. and 6 a.m.Â
3:48 p.m.- Police received a call from a resident of DeAngelo Drive reporting a tree had fallen onto another tree and that they were hanging over the road. The caller reported they had notified NSTAR, but that they thought it was more urgent. The responding officer reported the trees were leaning on a primary wire, and that NSTAR was reporting an ETA of two hours. The officer notified the caller to stay away from the wire until NSTAR arrived.
8:57 p.m.- A caller reported a suspicious vehicle parked behind John Glenn Middle School. Officers responded and spoke to the individual in the vehicle, who reported he was just observing the damage from the storm.
