Police: No-Go-Carts and a Missing Aunt

The following information was provided by the Bedford Police Department. An arrest does not indicate a conviction.

Tuesday, Oct. 23

7:10 a.m.- Police received a call reporting a deceased deer on the side of Hartwell Road. The Department of Public Works was notified. 

9:55 a.m.- Police received a call from a resident of Waltham reporting a possible medical problem with her aunt, a resident of Crescent Avenue. The caller had received a call from her aunt, and she could not determine what the problem is. The Bedford Police Department and the Bedford Fire Department responded and entered the home, but the caller's aunt was not there. The caller informed police she had found out her aunt was already in the hospital.

10:32 a.m.- A resident of Hartwell Road reported a possible scam involving a male who came to his front door claiming to be collecting donations for 'Disabled American Veterans.' The solicitor would not produce identification when asked to. The responding officer reported the caller's wife had agreed to leave a check for donation, but the caller did not want to.

11:10 a.m.- Police received a call reporting two go-carts driving up and down Jonathan Lane. Officers responded and spoke to the individuals driving the carts, who agreed to walk them back to their property.

11:17 a.m.- Police received a call reporting the odor of marijuana in the hallway of Building Six at Bedford Village. Officers responded but could not detect the odor.

12:04 p.m.- Police received several calls about a blue and white dirt bike being operated at a high speed on Battle Flag Road. Officers responded but could not find the dirt bike upon arrival.

8:16 p.m.- A caller reported a dog barking repeatedly on Ellingson Road. The responding officer checked the area but all appeared quiet.
