Police: Trees On Fire and Suspicious Taxis

The following information was provided by the Bedford Police Department. An arrest does not indicate a conviction.

 

Thursday, Nov. 1

11:07 a.m.- Police recieved a call from a mail carrier reporting a tree that appeared to be smoking in front of 289 South Road. Police and fire officials repsonded and the tree was extinguished.

1:21 p.m.- An officer reported a pine tree was touching wires in front of 319 Springs Road. It was not arcing or on fire, but police notified NSTAR.

3:10 p.m.- A resident of Page Road reported a loose dog in their yard that belonged at a neighbor. The Animal Control Officer spoke with the owner of the dog, who reported it was home, and advised her of leash laws.

Friday, Nov. 2

10:18 a.m.- A caller reported four taxi cabs that seemed out of place parked on Earl Road. The responding officer checked the area with no results.

10:29 a.m.- A caller requested police check on his son, a resident of Taylor Pond Road. The caller had been trying to reach his son for several days to no avail. The responding officer spoke with the caller's son and advised him to call his father.

12:08 p.m.- A landscaper called police to report he suspected a neighbor of his client at 168 Great Road will dump his leaves on the lawn of 168 as soon as the landscaper leaves. The responding officer spoke with both parties and reported there was no problem.

12:37 p.m.- Police received a call from the management of Bedford Villiage at 12 Dunster Road who reported they smelled the odor of marijuana in one of the buildings. The responding officer walked through the building with the manager and reported he could faintly smell marijuana, but could not pinpoint where it was coming from.
