Reports of People Living Behind Shopping Center, Traffic Light Malfunctions and More

BEDFORD, MA - The following is a sampling of log entries provided by the Bedford Police Department. Where mentioned, an arrest does not indicate a conviction.

Friday, Feb. 12

12:35 a.m. - 911 call from 24 Pickman Drive reporting a flooding issue in the basement. Officers dispatched. Fire reports water heater malfunction, water has been shut off. Home owner to contact plumber. No further action taken.

10:37 a.m. - Received a call reporting property damage at 402 Concord Road, The Bedford Children’s Center.

1:55 p.m. - Received a call from Bedford Florist reporting homeless people living behind the snow bank at the rear of the Great Road Shopping Center. Officers checked the area and were able to identify one person involved. No one was there at this time. This will be passed on to the 3-11 shift to follow up. There is an active warrant on the person identified

4:35 p.m. - Received a call reporting the Traffic Signal Plant Street at Middlesex Turnpike is not cycling properly. Caller reported vehicles coming off Plank have a green arrow to take left on turnpike, vehicles travelling off Crosby Drive are not getting a red light. Officer Martin reported he observed several cycles of the lights, lights were functioning properly, no problem found.

7:14 p.m. - Received a call from Alarm Central reporting a Commercial Alarm at KB Jewelers, 68 The Great Road, front center glass break. Officer reported doors were checked and all seemed secure.

11:38 p.m.- Officer reports he was at Shawsheen Cemetery and observed three females run off into woods. Area checked, females could not be found.
