5 Things: Chocolate for Chenery Students, Triple Header, 'Hello, Gorgeous'
Events happening in Belmont on Wednesday, April 24.

1. Middleschoolers: why just hang around on early-release Wednesday? Instead, bring your homework to the Assembly Room at the Belmont Public Library and have a free hot chocolate while you study. For all students at the Chenery Middle School only. Just show up.
2. Story time for 1s is a great time for toddlers under 24 months. Share simple stories, songs, finger plays, nursery rhymes and puppets. From 10:30 a.m. to 11 a.m. in the Children's Room of the Belmont Public Library.
3. It's a sports triple header at Belmont High School: Boys' Tennis will be at the High School courts at 3:30 p.m. and Baseball and Softball will "play ball" at 3:45 p.m. The common opponant? The Reading High School Rockets.

4. Duplicate Bridge Club meets from 9:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at the Beech Street Center at 266 Beech St. Every Wednesday the club holds American Contact Bridge League-sanctioned games. All are welcome to play. Cost is $5.
5. On this day in 1942, Barbra Streisand was born in, of course, New York City. The Youtube video is of a 19-year-old "Babs" performing on the "Jack Paar Show" in 1961. Wow.
