5 Things: Benton's Book Group Meets, High Schoolers Hang Out At The Library

Events occurring in Belmont on June 5.

1. The monthly Benton Library Book Group will discuss all of Barbara Pym’s social comedy novels such as Excellent WomenA Glass of Blessings and Quartet in Autumn. Newcomers are urged to come and get acquainted whether or not they have read the book. The group starts at 4 p.m. The library is open from 2 p.m. to 7 p.m.

2. Are you a 9th through 11th grader with a ton of finals and projects coming up? Need a work space and some extra sustenance to keep you going? The Belmont Public Library's Assembly Room will be opened from 2:30 p.m. to 5 p.m. for any BHS student that needs a little extra study space. There will be free snacks and drinks provided by the Friends of the Belmont Public Library.

3. Sing-along with Julie, a sing-along program for children, will be held from 10:30 a.m. to 11 a.m. in the Children's Room of the Belmont Public Library.

4. Duplicate Bridge Club meets from 9:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at the Beech Street Center at 266 Beech St. Every Wednesday the club holds American Contact Bridge League-sanctioned games. All are welcome to play. Cost is $5. Phone: 339-223-6484 for more information.
