5 Things: First-Person Account of WWII Internment, Rights of Nursing Home Residents
Events occurring in Belmont on Tuesday, May 21

1. Insituform Technologies will begin sewer and drain work on Trapelo Road across from Hawthorne Street today, May 21 starting at 7 a.m.
2. Margaret Yamamoto's ancestors immigrated to the US in the 1890 yet she and her family were taken from their home and interned by the US Government during World War II. Her first-person account of a Japanese-American family's experience in the camps and how they rebuilt their lives during the post-War years will be told in "Justice Denied: A Personal Perspective," at the Beech Street Center from 1:15 p.m. to 2:15 p.m.
3. Belmont resident and attorney Diane Gold will present "Rights of Nursing Home Residents and Rehab Patients" at 5:30 p.m. at the Beech Street Center. The Massachusetts Bar Association offers the Belmont Council on Aging a yearly informational presentation on this important subject.

4. It's Storytime at the Belmont Public Library: Story time for 2's and 3's, songs and movement are part of the story time experience for children ages 2 and 3, will be held at the Belmont Public Library's Children's Room. The fun begins at 9:30 a.m. and then again (for you late risers) from 10:30 a.m. Storycraft for 4's, 5's, and 6's will be held at 3:15 p.m. 617-489-2000.
5. Benton Library's Pre-school Story Time is a 45-minute program geared toward children between 3 and 5. It features a variety of stories, as well as music, finger plays and/or a craft. Parents and caregivers must remain with their preschooler during the program. Sign up is not required. The program begins at 10 a.m.
