5 Things: A Wildlife Experience, Talk on ADD/ADHD

Events occurring in Belmont on April 18.

1. A school recess highlight is back: The Animal World Experience, a fun, interactive and educational animal presentation focusing on local and exotic wildlife, brings its wonderful children's program to the Belmont Public Library from 2 p.m. to 2:30 p.m. in the Assembly Room. 

2. Dr. Jolene Ross will give a talk at the Belmont Public Library on ADD/ADHD and executive functioning skills. Ross will go over what constitutes executive functioning skills – organization, planning, emotional control, completing tasks and other high order brain functions – and how they can be improved. She will also review the research in this important area. Dr. Ross is a Licensed Psychologist and a NeuroBehavioral Psychologist with extensive experience in Neurobiofeedback treatment, cognitive and behavioral therapy and behavioral medicine. 

Everyone is welcome to attend this free program from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. in the Belmont Public Library's Flett Room across from the Children's Room.

3. The Benton Library is open during school recess, today from 2 p.m. to 7 p.m. Come use the Wifi connection, read some of the books on the Times' best seller list or play a game.

4. A combined meeting of Town Meeting representatives from Precincts 3 and 4 is being held from 6:30 p.m. to 9 p.m. in the Assembly Room of the Belmont Public Library.

5. Drop-in Vinyasa-style yoga classes, taught by professional instructors, will be held this evening at 7 p.m. at the  582 Pleasant St. All levels welcome. Please bring your own mat. Free parking on Pleasant, Leonard, and in the Claflin Street Parking Lot behind Belmont Center. The positioning will take place in Gardner Hall, at the back of the church, enter the hall from Alexander Street entrance. $10 for the session. All proceeds benefit Plymouth Nursery School.
