5 Things: Spanish Stories at the Library, Understanding Health Care Options

Events occurring in Belmont on Friday, May 17.

1. Traffic warning: Insituform Technologies will begin sewer and drain work on Trapelo Road at the intersection of Oak Avenue starting at 7 a.m.

2. Spanish in Motion is bringing their Spanish story program to the Belmont Public Library at 10:30 a.m. Enjoy music, movement, instruments, and Spanish songs and stories, performed by a native Spanish-speaking teacher and musician. Sign-up required. Sign up in the Children's Room or call 617-993-2880 for more information. 

3. Before a health care need arises, it is important to know what your choices are in order to make informed decisions. Join Candy Costas, R.N., of Privatus for an interactive discussion on "Understanding Your Options" beginning at 1:15 p.m. at the Beech Street Center.

4. Yoga, taught by professional instructors, is being held this morning from 9:15 a.m. to 10:15 a.m. at the Plymouth Congregational Church, 582 Pleasant St. in Gardiner Hall, at the back of the church. $10. All levels welcome just bring your own mat if you can. $6 per child for child care. All proceeds benefit Plymouth Nursery School.

5. On this day in 1954, the United States Supreme Court hands down a unanimous decision in Brown v. Board of Education of Topeka, Kansas, ending seperate but equal accomedations.
