5 Things: Trash Pickup Delayed a Day

1. Remember that the Patriots' Day holiday has pushed back trash curbside pick-up a day so if your regular collection day is Tuesday, wait until tomorrow. 

2. The Belmont Board of Library Trustees will be meeting at 7:30 p.m. at the Claflin Room at the Belmont Public Library to discuss the future of the $19 million new library proposal.

3. The Belmont schools are closed for the April Recess but that's not going to prevent the Belmont High School Band and Orchestra from arriving back home from their Chicago tour today.

4. The Intergenerational Mosaic Art Class is back at the Beech Street Center. Today and tomorrow, Tuesday and Wednesday, April 16 and 17 from 1:30 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. Here’s something fun to do with your teen grandchildren or young friends during school spring vacation week; enjoy the timeless craft of makingmosaic tiles. Learn how to assemble small pieces of colored ceramics, glass, stone beads, shells, and other found objects to create mosaic tiles. No experience is required. Open to seniors and teens. The instructor is Stacey Hammerlind, a RN with Waverly Arts, a group which highlights local arts. Call 617-993-2983 or stop by the front desk to sign up. Cost is $5 per class.
