5 Things You Need to Know Today: November 26

Singarama tonight, music for toddlers and get your leaf out on the street.

1. Come hear more than 350 singers from elementary school tots to High Schoolers as the Fine and Performing Arts Department of the Belmont Public Schools presents the 38th annual edition of Singarama. The event takes place at 7 p.m. at the Belmont High School auditorium. 

2. Music & Movement with Rubi, a movement and music program recommended for ages 3 to 5 but 2 year olds are welcome, will take place from 10:30 a.m. to noon in the Assembly Room of the Belmont Public Library.

3. It's the first day of the Winter sports season at Belmont High School with practice and try outs starting today. The season could last until the first weeks of March for the most successful teams.

4. Leafs are still being collected by the town but have them ready for pick-up in the proper manner. 

5. On this day 90 years ago, Howard Carter and Lord Carnarvon become the first people to enter the tomb of Pharaoh Tutankhamun in more than 3,000 years, discovering treasures rarely seen from that era.
