Belmont Runners' Boston Marathon Results
On that tragic day, many Belmont runners completed the course, others were stopped short of their goals.
It was suppose to be a day of accomplishment for two dozen Belmont residents: after spending months on training runs, suffering through the pain and injuries required to complete a distance race, asking friends, colleagues and strangers for donations to a favorite cause.
For all that and many more reasons, running and then completing the Boston Marathon was to be the culmination of that journey and struggle.
But not this year.

While many Belmont residents completed the race and were on their way to pick up their bags and be greeted by family and relatives or just struggle to the Red Line to head back home, duel terrorist explosions shattered those achievements and, instead, made Monday, April 15, 2013 one of horror and disbelief that mass terrorism could return to the United States on this day of fun and meaning.
