Belmont's Special Town Meeting got underway but only debated half the number of articles in the warrant. The town's bylaws were cleaned up (including a new spelling of "bylaw" without the hyphen), a new calculation of the inclusionary housing fee and set aside for developers and the approval of the town's agreement with NSTAR on an electrical system that will save the town half the money bonded to create the new system and substation.  Belmont's Town Administrator David Kale said he, along with the Board of Selectmen and the School Committee, will be formulating a new Task Force to explore the town's long-term revenue and expenditure issues. It was a beautifully sunny and breezy Memorial Day in Belmont with the annual parade and observance.  Belmont Baseball's Branden Shea shut out host Beverly High in a first round upset in the Div. 2 North Sectionals. The reward: a home playoff game on Monday. Two players overcame personal and physical challenges to help lead Belmont High School to the state Rugby Championships.
