Belmont Shows Its Pride In Boston Parade

A great day for showing support for gay rights and related issues.

What started out as a gloomy morning turned sunny and warm; a perfect day for a parade. And dozens of Belmont residents including members of Belmont High School's Gay Straight Alliance, and Belmont Against Racism marched in the annual Boston Pride Parade on Saturday that took place in Boston's Back Bay and South End.

Since 2001, Belmont Against Racism's Gay Straight Alliance Committee has been marching as "a welcoming community to  celebrate our collective pride and diversity," said Fran Yuan, president of BAR.
