Dance Like Crazy to Sounds Of The 80's Saturday Night

Remember the 1980s?

Neither do I but for three hours Saturday night, Feb. 2, everyone in town is invited to come to Belmont High School and jump into their own "Hot Tub Time Machine" and relive the decade with Sounds of the 80's.

The dance party/concert from 7:30 p.m. to 10:30 p.m. in the High School cafeteria will return parents, teens and children to the era of Michael Jackson, Pat Benatar, Dire Straits and Bruce Springsteen as two great Belmont bands – Positive Energy and the world premiere of opening act foodbaby – bring back memories of thin ties, "big" hair, leg warmers, Pac Man and Rubik's Cube. 

With Bill Denison and Tom Perrotta on guitar; Ben Scheindlin on bass; Narayan Kaimal drumming; Roger Gallagher on keyboard and several of the band on vocals, foodbaby is guaranteed to be an instantaneous success. And it's just the warm up!

Positive Energy will keep the evening sizzling with terrific instrumentals and vocals. Jim Wooster and Jon Svetky will star on guitar; Mark Kohler and Roger Brown on percussion; Rick Dimino on bass guitar; and Richard Curzi, (the band’s leader) on keyboard. Heather Quay, Bridget Curzi and Roger Read will provide outstanding vocals. 

In addition to the lively dance floor, there will be reasonably-priced refreshments and tables to relax and enjoy the evening.  

This fundraiser, generously sponsored by Belmont Savings Bank and Parents of Music Students, will support music education in Belmont schools. 

Admission prices are $15 per adult; $10 per student; and a cap of $40 per family. Tickets will be sold at the door.

The entire Belmont community is welcome to have fun and dance, baby, dance.
