Deadline For Real Estate Abatements, Taxes Today
Residents have until 4 p.m. to complete and return abatement forms.

The clock is ticking for residents to submit the necessary paperwork and payments to town officials:
• For residents who believe their residential properties are overvalued – and thus are being taxed at an artificial higher rate – the fiscal year 2013 abatement applicationfor real estate tax and personal property tax must be received by the Assessors' Office in the Homer Building by the close of business today, 4 p.m., or it can be sent via US Postal Service – addressed to: Assessors' Office, 19 Moore Street, Belmont, MA 02478 – as long as the envelope has a postmark from the United States Postal Service.
You can stop by the Assessors' Office to pick up an application or go to the town website where the application is available on-line online here.

Examples of information available are the style of house, number of rooms, full baths, half baths, and fireplaces, condition, lot size, living area, and more. • Third Quarter Real Estate and Personal Property Taxes are due in the Treasurer's Office located in the Homer Building by 4 p.m.
