BELMONT, MA — An overnight fire in Belmont damaged the Purecoat North plating business. The fire started just before 1 a.m. on Friday and was put out in about 30 minutes. Fire officials said they were alerted to the fire by a working fire alarm in the building.The fire brought the hazmat team out as chemicals and plating equipment were inside. No one was inside the building at the time and no injuries were reported.
