First Cancellations; Belmont High School Sports Postponed
Winter blizzard puts brakes on Friday, Saturday games.

The first cancellations due to the pending blizzard have been announced Thursday morning, Feb. 7, as Belmont High School has wiped clean the Friday and weekend sports calendar.
Belmont's Athletic Director Jim Davis announced the Girls' Basketball game with the top team in Eastern Massachusetts, Reading High School, set for Friday, Feb. 8, has been postponed until Wednesday, Feb 13 at 7 p.m.
In addition, the Boys' Hoopsters visit to Reading on Friday night will now be played on Wednesday.

The Boys' and Girls' Ice Hockey teams match against Woburn on Saturday, Feb. 9, are also postponed. The Boys game is rescheduled to Sunday, Feb. 10 at 2:15 p.m. The Girls' game against the number one team in Eastern Massachusetts (yes, another #1 in town) is rescheduled for a Valentine's Day tussle on Thursday, Feb. 14, at 5 p.m.
No word has yet been forthcoming from the MIAA regarding wrestling or the boys swim sectional tournaments.
