Holiday Weekend In Belmont: Ruggers and Marchers

1. The Belmont Rugby Football Club will be playing in the Division 1 State Championship Game at Fort Devans in central Massachusetts vs top-ranked Bishop H. The D1 match begins at 1:30 p.m. Saturday, May 25 and will be played on Antietam Field.

Getting to Devens is as easy as hopping on Route 2 and staying on the highway a little past Route 495 to Exit 37B Jackson Road/Deven then follow Jackson Road to the designated parking areas for Willard/Antietam Field.

2. Belmont will hold its annual Memorial Day Parade and Observance on Monday, May 27 beginning at 11 a.m. in Cushing Square. The parade, which will include veterans, active military and police and fire units will be accompanied by the combined Belmont Middle School and High School marching bands, Boy and Girl Scouts and other civic groups. The parade will head down Trapelo Road and Belmont Street, turning on Grove Street to Belmont Cemetery for a remembrance observation at around 11:45 p.m. The parade will then head over to the High School.
