Meet Belmont Farmers Market's Celebrity Vendor Today

It's Market Day in Belmont; from 2 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. in the Claflin Street Parking Lot in Belmont Center.

Little did she know that her humble ice pop stand that is located in the center of the Belmont Farmers Market – located in Belmont Center in the Claflin Parking Lot – would garner the attention of a world-reknown news empire.

But, yes, that is Real Pops' Dewey Cyr featured on the pages of the Boston Globe's food section with her popular icy treats made with whole-cooked fruits and little sugar. Come by and say hello to the market's latest media sensation –  Janique Das, of Janique's Madeleines was featured last year.

This week's occasional vendors are Still River Winery, Coutts Specialty Foods (jams), Sara Ran Away with the Spoon (baked treats), Nobscot Artisan Cheese and the regular vendors.

And with local peaches now in market, it's appropriate that Belmont's Sweet Peach Diner (up on Trapelo Road near the Beaver Brook playground) provides treats to sample at 2 p.m. This has become a great breakfast and lunch place.

And it's Art at the Market this week. Local artist Anne Katzeff and market volunteer Jeanne Mooney provide materials. Kids will create art from what they see at the Market from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. It's been great fun the past four years, so come on down.
