Belmont's Memorial Day 2013
Sunny and breezy conditions has crowds out to celebrate and observe.
The weather could not have cooperated any better for a parade than on Monday, May 27 in Belmont: sunny with a cooling breeze that filled the flags of marchers and participants in Belmont's annual Memorial Day parade and observation.
The town's two marching bands – from Belmont High School and Chenery Middle School – combined to accompany a small but dedicated number of veterans, the Fire and Police departments – including the town's new police dog – and every boy and girl scout pack and group in the parade from Cushing Square to Belmont Cemetery where the traditional observations were conducted to remember the town residents – from the Civil War to the War in Iraq and Afganistan – who sacrificed their lives for the country.
