Monday Essentials: A Sleepy July Week Coming

5 things that take shape and emerge during the work week.

Welcome to yet another new initiative from Patch that we hope will be informative for all you people getting the newsletter. This time around, the usual 5 things has been transformed into those events and other things that are "essential" for all residents to know. So here goes:

1. This could be the week that Cushing Village could get its stamp of approval from the Planning Board. But as of Sunday night, Tuesday's meeting is now "tentative" – not a good sign – after being delayed a week last week. I'll keep you informed on Tuesday.

2. The Community Bike Path Committee is meeting. After seeing their professional presentations, you'd probably give them a better than even chance of finally putting a recreation path through Belmont. It's Tuesday at 7:30 p.m.

3. Remember Abby Mohr, the Bat Mitzvah young girl who was selling at least 100 tickets so she could show the movie "Girl Rising," about giving girls across the world access to education? Well, she met her goal and the movie is being shown at the Regal Fenway Stadium 13 at 201 Brookline Ave. in Boston on Thursday, July 25 at 7:30 p.m

4. Because of rain, there is two concerts, Tuesday and Wednesday, at Payson Park part of the annual music festival. See Patch on those days to see who's playing.

5. Just about a month until Meet Belmont – Tuesday, Aug. 28 at the Chenery Middle School – so if you want a table at the biggest community event, email meetbelmont@gmail.com with your vitals.
