Monday Essentials: Another Sleepy Week Ahead of Us
Some things are more important than others: and there they are.

I will not dispute the claim that a tenth of Belmont's population leaves town from July to Labor Day. And it shows as nothin's happening around town. Here are five "essential" events this week.
1. Belmont High School photo students from the past school year will be holding an art show for the entire month of August at the Belmont Media Center. Opening reception at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday, Aug. 1
2. At the same locale, there will be a tribute to a brave Belmont woman, Paula Lerner who despite the danger photographed Afghan women doing their daily lives. It's also opens on Thursday at 6:30 p.m.
3. Your quarterly tax bills are due on Thursday: don't forget.
4. The School Committee will continue to begin their search for a superintendent. That'll talk place at 8 a.m. on Thursday.
5. And finally, Winchester's KidStock! Creative Theater presents "The Lizard of Oz," an original theatrical performance at the Belmont Public Library on Wednesday at 2 p.m.
