PJs The Fashion for Valentine's at Belmont High

Casual wear part of the school's annual PJ Drive for Cradles to Crayons fundraiser.

It was strickly sleepwear at Belmont High School on St. Valentine's Day, Feb. 14, as students and staff wandered the halls and attended class in their jammies – at a cost.

And the payment they tendered was not their pride – does anyone really need to know that you wear piggy slippers? – but a donation in cash or pairs of new infant-sized pajamas as part of the school's annual PJ Drive for Cradles to Crayons, a non-profit organization in Brighton, which provides gently-used clothes and gear for needy Massachusetts children.

In return for participating in the drive, this year sponsored by the Boston Bruins and the school's Belmontian Club, students took home prizes and gift certificates from Belmont and area businesses including Tokyo Joe’s, Koca’s Barber Shop, An Elegant Affair, The Toy Shop of Belmont, Anna’s Taqueria, Paradise Flowers, Il Casale, Gustazo, Wheelworks,  Savinos, Brothers Pizza, Marmalade, Jenny Boston, Nicolas Market, Iggy’s, Vicki Lee’s, Café Burrito, Quebrada Bakery and Comella’s
