Tagging captured on film

Sept. 4 – At 7:58 p.m., police officers were in an empty auto dealership on Pleasant Street to take photos of "tagging" – graffiti – on the interior walls of the building.

Sept 5 – At 2:10 p.m., police were sent to a Lewis Road residence for a by-law violation. They arrived to find a construction crew sandblasting a portion of the house. They were told that power sanding was only allowed with specific precautionary clothing and environmental measures in place due to the possibility that lead paint had once been used on the building. They were told using water instead of sand was acceptable, but by then the crew were finished for the day.

Sept. 6 ­– At 2 p.m., a police unit on patrol spotted a driver erratically operating her vehicle on Concord Avenue eastbound. The officers stopped the car and detected the strong odor of alcohol coming from the driver's side of the car. They also noticed the driver's eyes were bloodshot and her speech slurry. The driver was given a field sobriety test, failed and was subsequently arrested. Jennifer Hawkins, 47, of 45 Garrison Road in Brookline was charged with Operating Under the Influence, liquor, and a marked lane violation.

Portable gone

Sept. 7 – At  2:15 p.m., a resident called to say a portable sign was stolen from the corner of Common and Washington streets. The sign was worth $185.

Walkaway warrants

Sept. 7 – At 4:02 p.m., police officers were sent to McLean Hospital for a reported "walkaway" from the facility who had outstanding warrants out on him. Quickly, officers found the man near the intersection of Mill and Trapelo roads where he was arrested on the warrants from Newton District Court. Anthony Tramontozzi, 52, of 26 Cherry St., Newton, was charged with OUI, liquor, witness intimidation and assault and battery with a dangerous weapon.

Lawn littering

Sept. 7 – At 5:03 p.m., a Munroe Street resident called police to report that grass clippings from yard work being conducted by the neighbor was landing in his yard. Then the resident told police he would talk to the neighbor "before doing anything else."

Change for a fake $20

Sept. 8 – At 8:02 a.m., police were called to a Dunkin' Donuts on Trapelo Road for a reported fraud. When they arrived, the manager said while his staff was counting the cash from the night before, they came across a counterfeit $20. It was taken as evidence.

Capped off 

Sept. 8 – At 9:44 a.m., officers arrived at a Maple Street residence for a stolen cap sheet that was taken from a pile of building material dropped off in the owner's property. She hopes to work it out with the contractor how to resolve the issue.
