Reunited: Watertown Man the Owner of Cash Left on Route 73 Trolley

About $1,100 in an envelope left on the Belmont-bound electric bus Monday.

A Watertown man is back in the black after he came forward to claim a grand a Good Samaritan and a MBTA operator took good care of after he lost it on his way home from work.

The MBTA Transit Police announced last night the $1,100 in cashwas back in the hands of its rightful – and somewhat inattentive – owner, a grateful Watertown man who mistakenly left the bundle on the Belmont-bound vehicle.

A female passenger gave the money to T Operator Kevin White at the Cushing Square stop who handed the cash to a supervisor at Waverley Square.
