
One of the least surprising announcements has been made in front of an anticipated historic nor'easter heading towards Belmont.
School has been cancelled, according to the blog run by Belmont High School Principal Dan Richards.
In addition to cancelling classes, the School District has declared that:

- All BPS activities scheduled for Saturday and Sunday have been cancelled.
- All PTO/PTA Clubs are cancelled for Friday afternoon, Feb. 8. Make-up sessions for the PTO/PTA Clubs will be planned after the February holiday.
- The Belmont Skating Rink has suspended activities for Friday evening. The Chenery Upper School Ice Skating Night is canceled. The District is not sure at this time if it will be rescheduled.
- Due to the predicted storm, the Saturday Morning Music School has been cancelled for Saturday, Feb. 9. Music school will resume on March 2.
- BHS School ACT Testing for Saturday, February 9th is cancelled.
In addition, Belmont Hill School, the private boys school, has also cancelled classes.
