Sing With American Idol’s Ayla Brown in Belmont Savings Idol Competition

Contestants will have an opportunity to perform alongside star at Payson Park Festival opener.

Local singers can vie for a chance to perform with American Idol semi-finalist Ayla Brown at this year’s Payson Park Music Festival, with an assist to Belmont Savings Bank.

Interested vocalists can submit a two minute video audition via YouTube and encourage their friends, family and fans to “like” their performance on the Bank’s Facebook page.   

The five most “liked” singers will open for Ayla at the Payson Park Music Festival on Wednesday, June 19 and one winner will be selected to perform with Ayla during the show. All finalists, whose performances will be featured on local cable television, will receive a $50 prize deposited into a Belmont Savings Bank account.

“Belmont Savings Idol with Ayla Brown is a fun new addition to the Payson Park Music Festival, one of the area’s premier outdoor summer events,” said Bob Mahoney, President and CEO of Belmont Savings Bank. “We encourage all local singers from Belmont, Cambridge, Waltham and Watertown to submit their audition videos and encourage their fans to support them through our Facebook page.” 

Contestants may enter by emailing the link of their two minute singing audition from YouTube to Mike DeMarco at michael.demarco@belmontsavings.com. Individuals or groups may enter. Videos will be posted to the Belmont Savings Bank Facebook page upon receipt.

All entrants should encourage their fans to “like” the posted video on the Belmont Savings Bank Facebook page. Voting, which is currently open, closes at 9am on June 10. Fans must “like” the Belmont Savings Bank page, then “like” their favorite video. 

The winner and finalists will be notified by June 13, 2013. Belmont Savings Idol is open to residents of Belmont, Cambridge, Waltham and Watertown. 

In January 2012, Ayla released a self-titled country album. Her first single, “Goodbye for Good,” reached #1 on CDbaby.com’s Country Rock, Country Pop, and Overall Country charts for weeks, beating out artists such as Willie Nelson. 

Currently, Ayla’s self-titled CD is charting on Billboard in the Northeast section of the United States. Brown released a patriotic album “Heroes and Hometowns” in November 2012, which currently available on www.aylabrown.com. 

The Payson Park Music Festival is an annual concert series which is scheduled every Wednesday evening through August. The Ayla Brown concert will begin at 6:30.
