Five things for Wednesday, August 7.

1. Join the Belmont Energy Committee and Next Step Living on Wednesday, Aug. 7, for a presentation about Total Climate Control, an advanced technology combines heating and cooling into a single high efficiency system. A one-hour presentation will be followed by Q&A beginning at 7 p.m. in the Flett Room of the Belmont Public Library.

2. Roadwork continues along Trapelo Road as the town's contractor Insituform Technologies continues sewer and drain relining near Sycamore Street and sewer and drain repairs on Hawthorne, Grant Avenue, Waverly and Cambridge streets. And as anyone who's traveled into Belmont Center will know, work continues on Channing Road at Claflin and Cross streets.

3. Kids will be dancing at the library as popular local performer Rubi Lichauco brings her dance party to the Belmont Public Library's Assembly Room from 2 p.m. to 3 p.m.

4. Calling all musicians, singers, comedians, story-tellers and actors. The Belmont Council on Aging is holding the inaugural Council on Aging Talent Show on Tuesday, Aug. 13, at 1:15 p.m. A non-senior relative or friend is welcome to perform with you, if you chose.  If you are interested in performing, please see the Center Coordinator, Dena, or give her a call at 617-993-2977.  So far, performers include a poet reading original work, a Hungarian dancer, a guitarist, a couple of singers, and probably an actor or two.  We want you to show off your stuff!

5. On this day in 1974, French high-wire artist Philippe Petit walked a tightrope strung between the twin towers of New York's World Trade Center. The Academy Award winning documentary film, Man on Wire, is about the walk and much more.
