The water is cool, the sun is out but there won't be any swimming at Belmont's Underwood Pool on Concord Avenue today, Tuesday, Aug. 8.
While Belmont Department of Public Works crews finished mechanical repairs this afternoon, the time needed to filter the water and check chlorine levels would leave little time for the public to swim and play at the 101-year-old pool, said the pool's manager Lorraine Benoit, who is in her 37th year running the facility.
The pool has been closed since the weekend due to broken parts in the filtration room.
The town will inspect the pool at 7 am Wednesday, Aug. 7, and expects to be open for 9 am swim lessons, said Benoit.
