3 Weekend Arrests in Beverly

The following is an excerpt from the Beverly Police Department:

Friday, Dec. 7

  • Police were called to Cross Street at 7:12 a.m. on report of a refridgerator on the side of the road.
  • Police were made aware of a man possibly driving under the influence on Kernwood Ave at 10:05 a.m. 
  • A wallet was reported stolen from a vehicle on Cabot Street at 10:38 a.m.
  • A vehicle break-in was reported on Enon Street at 12:20 p.m.
  • Police were called to Odell Avenue at 3:31 p.m. on report of an alleged National Grid employee asking to check a residence's basement for possible gas line. The woman did not let the man into her house.
  • A neighbor dispute over an owner not picking up after his/her dog on the other's lawn was reported on Odell Avenue at 9:06 p.m. The neighbors said no threats had been made.
  • A vehicle was reported broken into on Cabot Street at 9:29 p.m.
  • A house break on Sylvan Street was reported at 9:49 p.m.
  • At 10:11 p.m. police were called to Porter Street on report of a large group in the park and street area. One intoxicated minor was transported to the hospital via ambulance.
  • Police were called to the Beverly-Salem Bridge at 11:19 on report of a person on the rail of the top of the bridge. When police arrived they did not locate the person.

Saturday, Dec. 8

  • A disturbance was reported on Broadway at 12:45 a.m.
  • Police were called to Manor Road at 12:56 a.m. on report of a 'female destroying an apartment.' When police arrived the woman, who was believed to be intoxicated, had left in a cab. Nothing in the apartment was destroyed.
  • Two intoxicated men were reported banging on the windows of Soma at 1:31 p.m. The two were transported back to Salem, and did not cause any damage to the restaurant.
  • At 2:06 a.m. police arrested Carlos Patrone, 22, of 75 Union St. in Methuen, on charges of operating under the influence of liquor, marked lanes violation, passing violating, and possession of marijuana.
  • At 3:06 a.m., police were called to Hart Street on report of someone trying to get into a house. Police talked to the homeowner, who said it was their son's friend, who they were expecting.
  • Police and Fire were called to Rantoul Street on report of the smell of smoke in the hallway at 6:23 a.m. The smell turned out to be overcooked hashbrowns.
  • At 4:27 p.m. police arrested James Willems, 45, of 123 Northridge Rd., on warrant charges.
  • A purse was reported stolen on Elliott Street at 6:21 p.m.
  • A vehicle was reported stuck on the railroad tracks on Dodge Street at 6:30 p.m. When police arrived, the vehicle was no longer there.

Sunday, Dec. 9

  • Police were called to Beverly Commons Drive on report of items missing at 8:42 a.m. Police said it appeared the items were not stolen, but were put in different locations.
  • A hypodermic needle was recovered from the sidewalk on Bates Street at 10:01 a.m.
  • Police were called to McKay Street on report of a 'six year old crying on the side of the road,' at 4:01 p.m. Police said there was no one on the scene when they arrived.
  • Police were called to McPherson Drive on report of a vehicle stuck on the railroad tracks at 10:49 p.m. Beverly Fire assisted in getting the vehicle removed.
  • At 2:22 a.m. on Monday, police arrested James O'Rourke, 45, of 276 Rantoul St., on charges of resisting arrest and disturbing the peace.
