Here are five things to start your day in Beverly:

1. No Place Like Home: The North Shore Community Development Coalition will continue their mission to provide quality affordable housing and fostering economic empowermentat the Eighth Annual "No Place Like Home" Dinner & Auction.Guests will enjoy a cocktail reception, live and silent auction, special guest speakers, 3 course plated dinner, Daniel Bennett Jazz Band, and the Pillars of the Community Awards.

2. Did you know the Healing Center on Cabot Street offers a weekly meditation circle? Reiki Master Practitioner Tamara teaches you easy-to-use meditation techniques that you can use at home to help you achieve a calmer, more peaceful state of being. During each circle you will experience a different meditation style with a brief introduction discussion, followed by a short film, and then practicing the meditation. No prior meditation experience is needed, and all are welcome to attend this circle. The suggested donation is $5-10.

3. Get your toys ready: The Beverly Police Department and the Beverly Police Relief Association will be sponsoring its fifteenth annual “Christmas Toy Drive” at the North Beverly Shopping Plaza this weekend. Learn more about where to donate here. 

4. Creative writing workshop: Are you looking for a place and time for creative writing practice? Explore both the art and craft of writing with instructor Elizabeth Ciampa in a new, 4-session series in January at the Beverly Public Library. Check out more information here
