Beverly Aggregate-Buying Electric Program To Offer 'Near-Level Prices' For 22-Month Contract
The city entered into the aggregate power-buying program with First Power Point to help stabilize prices for businesses and residents.
BEVERLY, MA — Beverly residents and businesses that take part in the city's aggregate-buying power program will experience what officials termed "near-level prices" as part of a new, 22-month contract with First Power Point.
The contract also calls for electricity to flow from 100 percent renewable sources.
The new contract begins in January.

"Beverly Community Electric has proven that we can balance cost and clean energy," Beverly Mayor Mike Cahill said. "The program has saved residents and businesses more than $2.3 million since launching last year while reducing the city's greenhouse gas emissions by more than 12.7 million pounds of CO2. The new contract builds on that success by maintaining our competitive prices while we take an even bigger step toward powering our homes and businesses with more clean, renewable
energy."
Under the new electricity supply contract, Beverly Community Electric will continue to provide three electricity supply alternatives:

Beverly Standard Green — Participants currently enrolled in the Beverly Standard option will be automatically enrolled in Beverly Standard Green under the new contract and will receive electricity that is 100 percent from renewable sources. Their price will change by less than one-tenth of a cent from 13.919 ¢/kWh to 14.012 ¢/kWh. Most Beverly Community Electric participants will be enrolled in Beverly Standard Green.
Beverly New England Green — Participants currently already enrolled in the Beverly 100% Clean option will be automatically enrolled in Beverly New England Green under the new contract and will see their price change from 14.999 ¢/kWh to 15.040 ¢/kWh. Beverly New England Green participants will continue to receive electricity that is 100% from renewable sources within the New England region.
Beverly Basic — Participants in Beverly Basic will be automatically enrolled in Beverly Basic under the new contract and will see their price change from 13.519 ¢/kWh to 13.942 ¢/kWh. Beverly Basic participants will continue to receive just the minimum amount of electricity from renewable sources required by law and the lowest price in the program.
All new Beverly Community Electric prices will be fixed and stable from January 2026 —
November 2027.
The Beverly Standard Green and Beverly Basic prices are lower than National Grid’s current Basic Service prices. Note: National Grid's prices change twice per year through the state’s electric rate-setting process.
Active program participants will be automatically enrolled into the new price for their program option with their January 2026 meter read. New program prices will first appear on February 2026 National Grid electric bills.
Participants who wish to make a change to their enrollment before the new prices take effect should submit their request no later than Dec. 18. Participants can also change their option or opt out at any time in the future with no fee or penalty.
